Take Action
Blog Host: Mona Hall, mother of Sydney '16
The Civic Liaison Blog was created to educate the Villa Victoria Academy school community about public policy matters that impact their families, teachers, and schools. The role of the Civic Liaison will be to assist the Villa Victoria school community in accessing their fair share of state and federal educational program services and materials. The Civic Liaison will provide timely information, organize action alerts, advise school administration and parents on relevant issues, and attend meetings that impact the various state and federal programs that affect our school and our community.

Opportunity Scholarship Act (OSA) 04/17/2012 13:32:58 Our legislators will not be looking at the Opportunity Scholarship Act (OSA). It would be a 4-year pilot program for eligible low-income children that are attending or will attend in the first year of a chronically failing non-charter public school (CFS). There are currently 7 targeted districts (Asbury Park, Camden, Elizabeth, Lakewood, Newark, Orange, and Passaic. The students could then apply for scholarships to attend participating out-of-district public schools or any participating nonpublic schools in the State. Some of our Catholic Schools have been approved. We need to tell our Legislators that we approve of this Act. A texting campaign has been initiated. We need as many texts as possible to have our position heard. This campaign has been created by E3 with full support of the Catholic Schools and the New Jersey Catholic Conference. Please follow the steps below to text your support:
