Christian Community Service
Program
Originating in the tradition of the Religious Teachers Filippini, Villa
Victoria brings the Judeo-Christian values and beliefs to all who share
its life. Additionally, it seeks to integrate these experiences so that
each student may be able to develop to her fullest potential. Service
to others is understood as the action arm of our common
values and beliefs. Love expressed in compassion and reverence for others
strives to overcome the misery and injustice that so often surrounds us.
This service of love is the visible demonstration of our belief in the
power of that same love spoken by Jesus when He said, Love one another
as I have loved you.(Jn. 15:12).
Community Service, therefore, is seen as an essential
part of the education and development of the whole person and is a proper
response to Villa Victorias mission statement and objectives.
The Christian Service Program prescribes the following:
Grades 7-8 9 hours per year total
- 1 hour service to the sick, elderly or disabled(i.e.
hospital work, nursing home visits)
- 1 hour service to the poor or disadvantaged(i.e.
soup kitchen, Habitat for Humanity)
- 1 hour service to children(i.e. lower school clubs,
tutoring)
- 1 hour service to the environment(i.e. clean ups,
school beautification)
- 1 hour service to the school (i.e. publicity visits,
Phone-a-thon)
- 4 hours in any of the five previously designated
categories listed above
Grades 9-12 18 hours per year total
- 1 hour service to the sick, elderly or disabled(i.e.

- 1 hour service to the poor or disadvantaged(i.e.
